While America is well known for its exceptional muscle cars, the British are behind the emergence of the iconic Jaguar brand. The car company started up in England back in 1922 and have released several charming vehicles ever since.
Jaguar is behind some of the most beautiful and fastest sports cars throughout history. And each is reminiscent of authentic British charm. From the start, Jaguar has been creating remarkable vehicles, from the original model Jaguar SS 100 right up to the modern luxury of the current F-Type model.
What’s more, Jaguar has also released their very own electric vehicle, getting onboard with many other car companies out there to support the conservation of the planet. The Jaguar I-Pace is the first-ever all-electric vehicle from the brand. While this vehicle is undeniably sleek and luxurious, it boasts pretty impressive specs for an all-electric vehicle.
The I-Pace made its way onto Jaguar, AZ showroom floors, and several others around the world back in June 2018. That said, if you’re curious as to which Jaguar models have made the biggest impression over the years, we have listed the top ten of all time.

10. Mark 1 And Mark 2
The Jaguar Mark 1 was released in 1955 as a classy and compact British saloon, otherwise known as a sedan. Even though this model is not entirely the greatest of all sports vehicles, the Mark 1 has seen quite a bit of racing success. Despite it not being a pure sports car, it still made waves in the auto market. The Mark 2 is a slightly upgraded version of the Mark 1, and both are now sought after classic cars.
9. Jaguar XK
The XK model made its way onto showroom floors not too long ago, back in 1996, with a sleek body silhouette and enough power to leave a mark as an exceptional sports car. This model is a grand touring coupe as well as a stylish convertible. While the XK was initially produced with 290 horsepower, a supercharged version was released just a few short years later, boasting a staggering 370 horsepower.
8. The SS Jaguar 100
This model is the successor of the SS Jaguar 90, and most consider it the first genuine Jaguar sports car in existence, packing all the power that previous models lacked. The SS Jaguar 100 was produced with a 2.5-litre 6-cylinder engine, later replaced with a more impressive 3.5-litre inline 6-cylinder engine. The vehicle was released back in 1936 and is a highly sought after vehicle on the classic car market today.
7. F-Type SVR
The Jaguar F-Type SVR is an undeniably stylish vehicle with an amazingly sleek design. This model is a prized modern sports car, and it packs an impressive 575 horsepower and 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine. Whether you’re a petrol head or not, anyone would agree that those are pretty impressive specs, even for a sports car. Due to the powerful engine, this model can reach speeds of 60 miles per hour in about 3.5 seconds.
6. The Jaguar XJ-S
Back in 1968, Jaguar released the XJ-S, and the vehicle soon became the carrier of the brands’ performance flame for a total of two decades. However, it remains one of the British car companies most successful models to date. The XJ-S was initially released as a coupe, but it wasn’t long before the Targa, and convertible models followed. The engine specs vary for this range of vehicles, as various six and 12-cylinder engines were available over the years. However, the V12 6.0-litre was the most powerful and largest variance available.
5. The Jaguar XK120
This vintage vehicle was the company’s first sports car to be released after the second world war, back in 1948. However, it remains iconic to this day as one of the most elegant cars ever made. A charming 3.4-litre 6-cylinder engine powers the vehicle, and it packs about 160 horsepower initially. Later, adjustments to the engine offered buyers an XK120 that packed a more impressive 210 horsepower.
4. The XJR-15
This sleek Jaguar model was released in 1990, and only 53 vehicles of the kind were produced by the company, rendering the XJR-15 a now precious model. The model was produced as a prototype race car intended for the regular roads. Packing 450 horsepower and a 6.0-litre V12 engine, this model remains pretty impressive beyond its scarcity.
3. Jaguar XKSS
Back in 1956, Jaguar decided to walk away from sports car racing and used their remaining stock later to create regular road cars known as the XKSS. However, not many of them were sold, and most never even left the factory. This was, unfortunately, due to a warehouse fire. This vehicle, and the survivors, left a massive mark on the auto community. As a result, this specific model is considered precious even though it was not a successful run for Jaguar.
2. The XJ220
Before we laid eyes on the iconic Mclaren or the world-renowned Bugatti Veyron, the Jaguar XJ220 earned the title of the world’s very first hypercar. The vehicle model was genuinely like nothing else on the roads. The hypercar can reach speeds of over 200 miles per hour and boasts an impressive 540 horsepower. However, it wasn’t the specs on the vehicle that won the spotlight, but rather the sleek appeal and design of the car itself. Even today, nearly two decades after being released, the model still looks as though it would fit in with the most current sports cars of today.
1. Jaguar E-Type
To date, the best Jaguar car is a model that most in the auto community could assume; the Jaguar E-Type. While some consider the XK120 the best-looking Jaguar of all time, others would agree that the E-Type deserves the title. And more would settle on the E-Type. The vehicle’s iconic classic design was also backed by powerful performance for cars of its time. The car initially contained a 3.8-litre six-cylinder engine and was later expanded to a 4.2-litre and then a 5.3-litre V12 engine.
